Grassland Groupies

Outreach

Unique interactive environmental education.

Our presentations, events, and activities help audiences encounter grassland ecosystems in new ways. We specialize on working with teens and adults, but through our partnerships we work with all ages.

Offsite education is our specialty.

Grassland Groupies does not have a dedicated teaching space, so all of our education work takes place offsite.

Through outreach, our expert educators partner with schools, museums, community organizers, businesses, and nonprofits to bring environmental education experiences to sites across Kansas.

Our donation-based model of outreach programming ensures that finances never get in the way of education. Thank you for donating what you can, and for paying it forward for others who can’t. The average donation for programming is $40 per class/group.

Choose us as a guest speaker for your event.

Our expert presentations usually last 45-60 minutes and can be tailored to fit your group’s interests. We make both in-person and virtual appearances, and are willing to travel (within reason, or for special circumstances). Donations are graciously accepted.

Enhance your event with engaging learning activities.

Our team of educators innovates activities that match your audience and goals. By letting people test and interact with concepts from scientific studies, we teach science literacy, experimental design, and facilitate understanding through action.

When tabling at an event, our team members take care to create an engaging experience that sparks a connection with the topic.

Not your standard classroom presentation.

Our classroom programs are designed to enhance your lessons and reinforce biological next generation science standards. We will gladly tailor a program to your classroom’s needs and resources.

Our grassland animal ambassadors love visiting classrooms to share about their natural history and behaviors, and our education team loves getting your students outside to discover that there’s plenty of nature on school grounds.
